Who Am I?
I’m Brad Pilcher. This means very little to you, as would any synopsis of my geographic location or physical features.1 I could tell you my political leanings2, my favorite movies3, music4, and literature5 I could tell you which video games I enjoy, and which ones I didn’t.6
I will not bore you with these mundane details. I will instead tell you, simply, that I am a writer. This is true, because I write, not because I’m famous or published in well-known magazines. Once upon a time, I did manage to eke out a living with writing, and since then I have managed to eke out a much better living by not writing. My dilemma is simple: I love to write.
Thus this website was born, as a vehicle for me to write whenever I damn well want, about whatever I damn well want. I can experiment here, and write length diatribes. Often, I will post graphic design work, but that will be rare. I prefer to write. Rather frequently, I will use a post as an excuse to aggregate links to all of the very interesting articles I’ve been reading on a given subject. Of course, I will try to make the articles worthwhile beyond the links, for what is practice for if not to become better.
Yet ultimately, it can be said BradPilcher.com is meant for Brad Pilcher, for me. I appreciate and respect any audience that would sit down and read my words, and I thank you for coming.
- I’m 6’2″ with glasses, auburn hair. I weigh around 200 lbs. depending on what I had for lunch, and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. Just to be comprehensive, there you go. ↩
- Liberal. Very. ↩
- I really couldn’t tell you this. I like too many and I’ve watched too many. I could tell you my favorite genres: science-fiction and heist films. I could maybe narrow it down to a top 10 or 20, but why bother? ↩
- This would also be difficult. See footnote #2. ↩
- This is easier. I don’t know why, but I love The Postman by David Brin and The Cuckoo’s Egg by Cliff Stoll. Neither one of these books are great works of literature, and I’ve probably read more interesting and exciting books since. In fact, I know I have. I could make a list of those, but again. Why bother? Needless to say these two books stuck with me at a young age, and I still re-read them and look back longingly. ↩
- You could also just read the entries I’ve written on the subject of video games. That goes for books, music, and movies too. Lazy bum, you. ↩
